5. Payment Types

Bookamat includes integrated online card payment processing facilitated through Stripe, Square and Peach payments. If you don’t want to use online card payments for client bookings you can also choose the non-integrated payment types which suit your needs.

A non-integrated payment type simply requires manual reconciliation of the client’s payment with their outstanding amount in Bookamat.

Cash (In Person)

Bookamat supports the use of cash for client payments. To record a payment as paid by Cash, go to the My Business > Billing > Settings page and enable the Cash payment type. Now when you want to record a successful cash payment, go to My Business > Billing > Outstanding and select the paid for with column as Cash then save.

Credit / Debit Card (In Person)

Bookamat supports the use of in person card machines or EFTPOS terminals for client payments. To record a payment as paid by Credit / Debit Card (In Person), go to the My Business > Billing > Settings page and enable the Credit / Debit Card (In Person) payment type. Now when you want to record a successful cash payment, go to My Business > Billing > Outstanding and select the paid for with column as Credit / Debit Card (In Person) then save.

Direct Debit

Bookamat supports the use of 3rd party direct debit service providers such as Ezidebit for client payments. This works in the same way as reconciling EFT or cash payments against each client’s account when successful payment is confirmed by your direct debit provider.

To record a payment as paid by Direct Debit Agreement, go to the My Business > Billing > Settings page and enable the Direct Debit Agreement payment type. Now when you want to record a successful direct debit payment, go to My Business > Billing > Outstanding and select the paid for with column as Direct Debit Agreement then save.

If your direct debit service provider also offers a payment link, enter the payment link on the My Business > Billing > Settings page where clients will be able to open your direct debit agreement page.

EFT (Bank Transfer)

To allow clients to pay their fees directly into your bank account, firstly add your bank account details to the My Account > Bank Account page. Now go to the My Business > Billing > Settings page and enable the EFT (Bank Transfer) payment type and set to Show Online.

Your clients will now see an option to pay their outstanding fees into your nominated bank account and to email you a proof of payment / purchase. Clients are notified that their bookings will only be available once you have received their payment and updated their account.

Other Payment Types (SnapScan, Paypal etc)

Bookamat supports the use of 3rd party payment service providers such as mobile apps with QR codes, payment links and more. We have added many options for various countries and if you want a manual payment method added which is not already available, please contact us.

Successful Payment Notifications

To auto-send clients a payment notification when you manually save their payment as paid with Cash, Credit / Debit Card (In Person), EFT (Bank Transfer) or Direct Debit Agreement etc, go to My Settings > Notifications and set #9 to yes.
